Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers such as Restylane, Teosyal & Juvederm are injectable treatments that contain non-animal Hyluronic Acid (HA). This exists naturally in the skin and works to maintain moisture levels, but as we grow older levels of HA are depleted leaving ageing skin looking dull and dehydrated.

These products are capable of holding a thousand times their own weight in water and by replacing the lost HA in our skin, they alleviate the signs of ageing and restore moisture.

No pre-test is required as the hypo-allergenic gel is so similar to our body’s own natural HA.

The benefits of dermal fillers.

  • They instantly restore volume, erasing lines and wrinkles.
  • Results are immediate.
  • No down time required.
  • They can enhance facial contours and shape the lips.

Areas responding well to treatment.

  • Nasal-labial (nose to mouth lines)
  • Marionette lines.
  • Lift the corners of the mouth.
  • Enhance thin lips (lip augmentation)
  • Eradicate wrinkles around the lips (e.g. smoker’s lines)
  • Restore volume loss in the cheeks (cheek augmentation)
  • Soften lines in any area of the face (e.g. forehead & frown lines)

How long does the treatment take?

Treatment generally takes 20 to 30 minutes and, using a micro needle, the dermal filler is injected to instantly restore volume, softening lines and wrinkles.

Topical and local anesthesia are used to prevent discomfort during the procedure. Depending on the area being treated and the amount of volume loss present, a second session may be required to achieve the desired result.

Possible side effects.

These are rare and are mostly injection related rather than due to the product. Side effects can include possible bruising, swelling, redness, itching, pain and discoloration at the injection site. Such complications generally disappear within a few days.

How long does it last?

Usually between 6 to 12 months depending on the area being treated.
