Botox

Muscle relaxing treatments such as Botox, Dysport and Azzalure are extremely effective in the treatment of lines and wrinkles caused by a lifetime of everyday facial expressions. The upper third of the face responds extremely well to treatment with Botox. It can be used to combat the appearance of:

  • Frown lines
  • Forehead lines
  • Laughter lines
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes.
  • Neck bands
  • Dimply chins
  • It can be used to create a youthful eyebrow lift and is very effective in the treatment of excessive underarm sweating (Hyperhydrosis).

As we age there is a marked slowing in the skin’s capacity to renew/repair itself meaning that when the skin is creased in areas of maximum use, these lines eventually become permanent.

This treatment involves the use of tiny amounts of a purified botulinum toxin protein which has been used in many aspects of medicine for over 20 years. It is a prescription only medicine which can only be prescribed by a doctor or dentist.

Botox prevents the muscle from contracting allowing the overlying skin to recover and soften. The wrinkle relaxing injections are very specific and only reduce the movement of targeted muscles not affecting untreated muscles so allowing a natural range of facial expression.

The procedure takes approximately ten minutes and using a tiny micro-needle, a very small amount of Botox is injected into several areas of the face. Discomfort is very minimal and you can resume normal activities immediately afterwards. These treatments are temporary lasting between three to five months; repeat of the treatment would then be required to maintain and improve results.
